Auditions
Seraphic Fire, Miami’s professional chamber choir, is now accepting audition tapes from all voice parts for its 2006-2007 concert season. Seraphic Fire performs with 12 to 16 singers per concert. Accepted singers will receive concert fees, a food stipend, plus travel expenses and lodging.
Repertoire for the ‘06/’07 season will include Brahms’s Ein Deutsches Requiem, Ramirez’s Missa Criolla, Bach Cantatas 37, 47, and 147, as well as a number of other programs. Seraphic Fire recently appeared with the New World Symphony and was featured on the opening track of Shakira’s new album Oral Fixation 2.
Singers should possess ample solo and ensemble experience, excellent sight-reading skills, familiarity with Baroque and Renaissance vocal style, and a desire to sing at the highest level of vocal ensemble performance.
Interested singers should submit the following:
- A current resume or curriculum vitae
- One photo or headshot
- Two references including phone numbers and email addresses
- One recording (CD preferred, high-bias audio tapes accepted) including the following:
- Two solo vocal works in contrasting styles and languages,one of which should be from the Baroque period.
- Scales and arpeggios demonstrating range and vocal agility.
Note: Audition materials should be labeled with the musician’s name and voice part.
